WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Shimmer is a film about a father and a daughter with too much hubris and too little grace for one another entrenched in a struggle that will tear them apart. It’s about repentance and understanding that come too late to fix what’s been steadily eroded by neglect.
It’s also a risky venture for an independent studio from a country that’s still trying to find its footing in the worldwide animation industry.

Cast away on a desolate beach with his children, Ricardo desperately seeks to draw the attention of shimmering lights blazing in the sky behind the thick cover of clouds.
He’s close to finishing the construction of a monumental lighthouse that could hold the key to their rescue, but he’s grown blind to the deepening mistrust his neglect has fostered in his eldest daughter, whose own plans will force her father to choose between his dreams and his children.
